Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw (Elizabeth Alice MacGraw) is a American animal rights advocate, writer also a model, actor and author. The actress is famous for movies like Love Story (1970) Goodbye Columbus (1969) and The Getaway (1972). Her desire to be an artist was influenced by her upbringing within the New York family of artists. Her first job was as an assistant to photographers. After that, she switched to modeling and acting. Her two first films were noticed and she received recognition with the Golden Globe Award of Most Promising newcomer. MacGraw became a global star after her 1970 movie Love Story, which earned an Academy Award nomination as well as an award from the Golden Globe. Within three years, she was named the number one female box-office starter in the whole world. In Grauman's Chinese Theater in the year 1972, she got her name and footprints hand-engraved. She has starred in several other films including The Getaway Convoy Players and TV miniseries The Winds of War among many others. Her autobiography, published in 1991 Moving Pictures came out. MacGraw has married thrice.
